What is a ceramic coating?

Ceramic coating options

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer applied to a vehicle's exterior that chemically bonds with the factory paint, forming a protective layer. We offer two different ceramic coating options that come with different benefits and work for different budgets.

Basic 12 Month Ceramic Protection

CX2 Max is a revolutionary spray-on ceramic sealant unlike many other ceramic sealants. It protects many painted or aluminum vehicle surfaces against water, chemicals, UV rays, and minor scratches that can damage a vehicle’s appearance. CX2 Max will leave the car looking and feeling glossy. It lasts 12 months on the vehicle surface. It is a great product but if you're looking for something top of the line, we recommend the CXG-9 below.

Premium 5-7 Year Ceramic Protection

In the world of premium liquid paint protection, CXG-9 is a true ceramic + graphene coating. Once applied, CXG-9 reacts with moisture in the air to cure. The polymer creates a crystalline structure similar to quartz, providing strength to the coating. When fully cured, CXG-9 reaches a hardness of 9H on the MOHs scale.

CXG-9 uses graphene, this element is so small, it will fit into the tiny crevices in automotive paint. Graphene requires a greater coat weight than a liquid can provide to stand alone as a protective coating. As an additive within CXG-9, it crosslinks with the ceramic (Si02) to create a greater bond providing more even and durable protection than ceramic alone.

How do you apply the ceramic coating?

We are trained and certified to apply this line of ceramic coatings. In addition to using the correct application method, we must prep properly.  Prepping the car correctly is key (and we got the keys). Here are the steps we take to ensure your ceramic coating application turns out as good as it can be.

  1. Exterior detail to clean all surfaces (included).

  2. Decontaminate paint with clay bar. This pulls contaminants like water spots, brake dust, metal dust, industrial pollution and road grit from your clear coat (included).

  3. Buff out swirl marks, oxidation and other scratches (optional add-on).

  4. Polish paint to reduce appearance of light scratches and give car a smooth finish (optional add-on)

  5. Pre-treat to promote bonding between your clear coat and the ceramic coating (included).

  6. Apply ceramic coating (included)

Newer cars may not need to be buffed or polished if the paint is in good condition. We can discuss whether your vehicle may need a buff/polish or just a polish. We recommend scheduling a ceramic coating appointment as soon as you can after purchasing a vehicle because you will save money if the car paint does not need to be repaired first. The better condition it is in, the less prep work is needed. Some dealerships sell the same quality ceramic coatings for $4,000+ in Wichita so don't fall into that trap. Reach out to us today, our goal is to help you!

How does a ceramic coating work?

Science, YAY! Your car's paint is porous like the skin of an orange. When it is uncoated, dirt and pollutants can sit in the pores and make your paint look bad. When coated, it stays clean longer, is protected and the coating is so durable it will keep the paint from being so susceptible to scratches.
